Want to know how to grow a flower!

This week for writing we had write about something like how to do something so I decied to do how to grow a flower here is my writing!

                                          How to grow a flower 

Would you like to learn how to grow a flower?

There are many different kinds of flowers and many different ways or things you could plant your flowers in! You could put your flowers in a bucket or a garden bed some people even grow flowers or plants in their old shoes they dont use

Firstly you need to get supplies for planting a flower. The main things you need are seeds, soil and a place to plant your plant. You might also need gloves and a small shovel to dig or make the hole. After that you will need to make sure your flower needs to be watered lots and also get lots of sunshine!

After you have planted your flower and given it water and sunshine everyday you should check up on the flower to make sure its not going to die. The reason why you should check is because you want to make sure your flower is healthy and will live for long time and gets enough water and sunshine

You also need to have a lot of patience because it takes time for a flower to grow and it will come eventually but it takes time

Here are some fun facts about flowers. Did you know that a flower can take up to about 100 days to grow? Flowers did not always exist; they first appeared 140 million years ago. Broccoli is actually a flower.

PLANT - A plant is a flower or a food or even just nice plant 

PATIENCE - patience is when you wait for a long or a short time 

GARDEN - A garden is where there alot of plants or flowers in a big square filled with soil and plants

This week for reading we had to follow instructions for our create task!

We got chose many differnt opotions but we had to follow them step by step

I chose to do a baking one since I love to bake

I made scones and followed the recipe of what I needed and how much because if you did not follow the rules than something could go wrong!

I have not put anything on them yet as they have just come out of the oven!

This week for writing we have been focusing on when it is good to read all the details and when its okay to skim read

If you dont know what skim reading is

Then I will tell you! Skim reading is quick reading and just having a small look and not ready the whole entire text but just the main parts you need to know about!

We also have been focusing on istructions and what makes good instructions 

For  our create task we had to do step by step of something of our choice

This week for writing we peared up and wrote commets on each others writing for speeches and what we could do to make our speeches better! My topic I wrote about was Why students should NOT be paided to go to school!

This week for reading we choose 3 texts and had to explain what they were 

We had to choose from 3 differnt catagorys I choose Sports , Odd stuff and national

I got all the texts from Kiwi kids news

The first text I read was the sport one 

the title was: 

Virtual reality headsets trialed to test rugby concussions

This article was about rugby people

They are doing a test to see the player eye movements this will help the coaches see that the head injury is more accurate (like to see if they have a concussion and how they got it) 

The next article is called:

Wellington moves to level 2 

Which is the catagory national

It is about how they have moved to level 2. If you dont what im talking about thats a suprise but its to do with covid 19 and they are going into level 2 now from June 23rd to june the 27th thats 4 days!

The catagory was Odd stuff!

Rainbows end roller coaster stops midway!

This story is about how the roller coaster stops in the middle of the ride that would be really scary they had to get out of the roller coaster and probley climb down.

This week and last week for writing I had to make a Newspaper.  I chose to decide to do Pas if you dont know what a Pa is then read my artcle to find out what it is. 

First we had to gather infomation about what we were going to write about. Then we had to write everything that we got for the artcles or infomation we read and writie into our own words. We could also put pictures since this was a newspaper and most newspapers have photos for an even better understanding.
